Want to take your workouts to another level? Kettlebell training is one of the most efficient all-in-one workout tools available. Unlike training with dumbbells or a barbell, kettlebells feel genuinely different and challenge your body in a distinctly different way.

The kettlebell has a unique ball design with a handle attached at the top. Unlike a dumbbell or barbell, where the load is in line with the handle, the kettlebell's load sits in front of the handle. This offset centre of balance means your body, and especially your core, must work significantly harder to stabilise throughout every movement.
You can perform a wide range of exercises with a kettlebell: squats, deadlifts, overhead presses, bent-over rows, cleans, snatches, swings and juggling exercises. The swing is the foundation of kettlebell training and one of the best posterior chain exercises available.
In traditional bodybuilding you isolate different muscle groups and train them independently. Kettlebell training takes a completely different approach. You train the movements along with the muscles.

Most kettlebell exercises involve multiple muscle groups with ballistic, full-body movements. This approach combines strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, coordination, core stabilisation and dynamic mobility all in one workout. The result is the best bang for your buck training you can do.
If you've never used kettlebells before, learning from a qualified kettlebell instructor or certified trainer is genuinely worthwhile. Kettlebell technique, particularly for the swing, clean and snatch, involves a hip hinge pattern that takes some time to learn properly. Getting it right from the start makes training safer and more effective.

Start with basic exercises like the kettlebell swing and goblet squat. Progress through these movements before moving to more complex ones. Begin with a light to moderate weight and build your volume of repetitions with proper technique. When you can sustain your volume with good form, progress to a heavier kettlebell.
For most men starting out, a 12 to 16kg kettlebell is a solid entry point. For most women, 8 to 12kg. These are starting points only. Some people will need lighter, some will progress faster. Let your technique guide you.
Health should feel like your best life, not a break from it.
